FAQ

SELL YOUR WEDDING DRESS: SELLER QUESTIONS

What does resale mean?

We DO NOT PURCHASE DRESSES. You leave your dress with us and authorize us to sell it for you. We do the work setting appointments, handling and advertising. When the dress sells, we will contact you and will set up a time for you to pick up your payment. The ownership of your dress is retained by you and it is left at Scarlet Bridal at your own risk. Scarlet Bridal assumes no liability for fire, flood, theft, or damage of your dress by accident. Scarlet Bridal will do it’s very best to keep your item(s) in good condition, but it is understood that your dress will be tried on and  sample wear and tear will take place. Scarlet Bridal cannot hold insurance for inventory it does not own.

What is the fee for selling my dress?

There is a 50%/50% split before the tax.

Does my dress need to be dry-cleaned?

If it has been hanging unworn in a smoke filled environment, has spots or stains, body odor, makeup or any other defect.

How long will you keep my dress?

The contract is for one year. Scarlet Bridal will NOT notify you when your contract is up, please keep track of time and contact us. It is YOUR responsibility.

When will I receive my payment after sale?

You will receive your payment within 10 days of sale.

What do I do if my dress does not sell?

At the end of your contract you will need to make arrangements to pick up your gown. You MUST pick up your dress by the last day of the 12th month of contract date. If your dress is not picked up on time it will become property of Scarlet Bridal and it will be donated to a charity we choose. If you would like to extend your contract and we feel your dress is still a sellable style, you may just leave it with us and we will update your contract.
